Dear World

You ask us why we scream and fight for the others

You ask us why we carry so much anger

You tell us that we are safe, why cry for someone else

Let me tell you why

Because we are women

Because we have been treated wrong for as long as history goes back

Because we have been generationally violated

Because we have been silenced through time

And yet you ask why

The screams that tear through our throats are not just our own

This is the wrath of every woman who came before me

This is the scream of every woman who faced injustice

This is the pain of every woman who was tossed aside

This is anger, sadness, injustice, vengeance that has been burnt and woven into our DNA

This is not just me. Its the soul of every woman speaking through

This is centuries worth of fight

Generations worth of struggle

Our anger is ancestral
